About Abby
Abby is a 25-year-old graduate from Central Washington University with Dual Bachelors degrees in “Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising” and “Dance”. She has an Arts background with over 15 years of experience in vocal performance and 20 years of experience in dance. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Marketing degree online at Western Governors University.
Her career ambition is to work in the marketing field for a few years and then open her own couture gown business here in Washington, while continuing to be a part of local arts programs. In her free time she loves to travel, shop, sing, dance, perform in local musical theater programs, spend time with family/friends and volunteer in any way that she can.
Abby has been involved with the Miss Washington Scholarship Organization since 2016 and has held one local teen title and five local Miss titles. Her favorite part of the organization is the sisterhood she has gained from the friends she’s made over almost a decade of involvement. Abby has also earned over $30,000 in scholarship dollars from competing in various local programs and at state in the Miss Washington organization. She currently serves her community as a Barista at a local coffee stand and also works during the school year as a certified Washington State Dance and Drill Judge.
Her community service initiative is “You Matter; Where Passion Meets Wellness” which is a reflection of her lived experiences being cyber bullied at 13-years-old, navigating depression and anxiety, growing up with ADHD and how she has utilized the arts and community outreach to better her life. She champions this mental wellness initiative by advocating and lobbying with NAMI WA for mental health bills, bringing live music to senior residents in retirement homes to help them combat loneliness, and presenting “passion posters” to students in schools to help them recognize their passions & prioritize their overall wellness. Abby has a fierce passion for all things surrounding mental health, people, fashion, the arts, social media marketing and the Miss America Opportunity.
