About Emily

Emily Hamilton (17) was crowned Miss Seattle’s Teen 2023 on February 25, 2023, where she also won the Talent award for her vocal performance of “Jolene” by the legendary Dolly Parton. Emily resides in North Bend, Washington and is a junior at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie.

Emily’s social impact initiative is “Rising from Homelessness to Housing”, an effort she has been involved in for the last 9 years. Emily is an active volunteer with Homeless Encampment Tent City 4 where she has dedicated thousands of hours fundraising, provided meal services, and participated in an annual holiday dinner and gift drive. Emily believes she and her family have been called by God to help people around the world rise from poverty and participated in service and educational trips to Ecuador and Peru.

 

Emily is a talented singer and stage performer. At just 11 years old, she attained her first professional role at the 5th Avenue Theatre’s production of the Broadway Musical “Ragtime.” She is a student at the prestigious Village Theatre Institute in Issaquah, Washington. Additionally, Emily has won many regional and national talent competitions across the United States.

 

As a neurodivergent person with Attention Deficit Disorder, High-Functioning Autism, and Social Communication Disorder, Emily advocates for the acceptance and positive value of inclusion of neurodivergent individuals.  In the future, she plans to study communications and become an author specializing in books for neurodivergent children.

 

In addition to performing, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, ice skating, and traveling.  She looks forward to the many opportunities and adventures during her year as Miss Seattle’s Teen.
